The Teenage Brain
This 1.5 hour workshop is suitable for all secondary school staff.
Just imagine the hundreds of teenage interactions experienced by teachers every single day! We look at brain development and what is happening for adolescents as they move from their child into adult selves.
We will consider the impact brain development has on teenage behaviour and look at ways staff can engage with this. We bear in mind that the brain is a largely social organ and that throughout the teens and 20s the maximum amount of change is taking place.
The intricacies of its functioning however, affect us throughout our lives and for teachers, where they find themselves developmentally may also impact upon how they relate to their teenage students.
This workshop provides the opportunity for teachers to explore alongside us and talk about this fascinating subject.
