We have registered to take part in The Fun Walk again this year and are looking for willing volunteers, families or clubs and groups to take part.

The 5k Fun Walk can be done anytime, any place during September and donations can be collected to help support our work.

If you would like to join our Fun Walk team, please email Damian to let us know when and where your walk is taking place, and download our Sponsorship Form which is available here.

Send our sponsorship form to as many friends and family members as you can and encourage them to join in too. All sponsorship is gratefully received no matter how small.

For more information about the walk itself, take a look at The Fun Walk Trust page here.

We look forward to having lots of walkers during the course of the month and to sharing photos on our social media channels.

The 2025 TCS London Marathon will take place on Sunday 27th April.

We have 5 Gold Bond Charity places available for runners who may not have been successful in the ballot and who would like to raise much needed funds to support children's mental health and wellbeing.

To apply for one of our places, you will need to complete an application form which will be subject to a selection process. Please download our application form here and return it to us as soon as possible by email to Damian or by post to:

BCCS, 133 High Street, Billericay, Essex, CM12 9AB

The deadline for applications is 5pm on Friday 6th September 2025 and you will be notified towards the end of September.

If successful, we will ask you to raise a minimum of £1800 in sponsorship (before Gift Aid).

If your application is not immediately successful, we will put your name on our reserve list in case one of our places becomes available at a later stage.

Do you already have a place?

If you are lucky enough to have secured a place through the race organisers’ ballot, we’d love you to join 'Team BCCS'. We only have a limited amount of guaranteed places available, so we really appreciate any sponsorship money raised by people who have already secured their own places.

For further information, please email Damian who will be happy to help.

Our previous Marathon runners are our best ambassadors - here's what they have to say about being part of the event for BCCS:

'The London Marathon was one of the best days of my life; 26.2 miles of deafening support from the crowd as you pass Cutty Sark, Tower Bridge and, at last, Buckingham Palace is something I’ll never forget.

It was an honour to do my bit for a charity like BCCS and help them continue to provide such amazing support to a large number of children in the local community.

Trust me, being part of the amazing atmosphere on the streets of London for that day makes all those training runs in the cold worthwhile.

I would strongly urge anyone even considering running the London Marathon to go for it. Just make sure you’ve got yourself some comfortable trainers and your name on your purple BCCS vest for the big day; the crowd will do the rest of the work for you!'

Our Christmas Craft and Gift Fair will be held at The Mill Hall Arts & Events Centre, Bellingham Lane, Rayleigh SS6 7ED on Sunday 5th November from 10.30-4pm.

There is free parking at the venue and admission is only £1.50 for adults and free for children under 14.

There will be lots of stalls selling crafts and gifts so come along and pick up a few early Christmas presents and enjoy some refreshments while helping us to raise vital funds for our work.

If you are interested in having a stall at our event, please email Damian or contact us on 07912 308000 for further information; pitches are £32 after which all proceeds made on the day are your own.

Otherwise, stall holders can complete our booking form here and send to Damian at ddillon@bccs.org.uk

Get Crafty for BCCS!

Do you make or bake any goodies which we could sell on our stall? Christmas cakes, chutneys, Christmas tree or house decorations, or any knitted or embroidered crafts - any or all are welcome.

Please email Damian who will arrange to have your donation collected from you if you are unable to drop off at our office in Billericay.

We are very grateful to one of our long-standing supporters who has organised this for us and are looking forward to a very successful even. We hope to see you there!
